If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help with advice, quotations, and recommendations for your flooring project.

How much does floor sanding cost?

Floor sanding costs vary depending on the size of the area, the condition of the floor, and the finish you choose. We provide free quotations across Swansea and South Wales after assessing the floor and discussing the finish you want.

How long does floor sanding take?

Most domestic floor sanding projects take between 1–3 days depending on the size of the property and the condition of the floorboards. Larger commercial projects may take longer.

Is floor sanding dusty?

Modern floor sanding machines are designed to be virtually dust-free and collect the vast majority of dust during the sanding process. Some fine dust can still settle, but it is minimal compared to older sanding methods.

Can engineered wood floors be sanded?

Yes, many engineered wood floors can be sanded and refinished, provided the top wear layer is thick enough. We can inspect your flooring and advise whether sanding is suitable.

Can parquet flooring be sanded?

Yes. Parquet flooring can usually be restored beautifully through professional sanding and refinishing. We specialise in restoring traditional parquet floors across Swansea and South Wales.

Do I need to empty the room before sanding starts?

We recommend removing furniture, rugs, curtains, and fragile items before work begins. If needed, we can discuss furniture moving arrangements beforehand.

What finishes can I choose from?

We offer a range of finishes including matt lacquer, satin lacquer, gloss lacquer, hardwax oil, and stains in various colours. We can recommend the best finish based on the look and durability you want.

How soon can I walk on the floor after sanding?

You can usually walk on the floor in socks after a few hours, depending on the finish used. Furniture should normally be left off the floor for at least 24 hours, and rugs for several days.

Can damaged or stained floorboards be repaired?

Yes. We can repair or replace damaged boards, fill gaps, and treat many stains before sanding and finishing the floor.

Will sanding remove scratches and dents?

Most surface scratches, marks, and general wear will be removed during sanding. Deep gouges or structural damage may require repairs or board replacement.

Is floor sanding worth it compared to replacing the floor?

In many cases, sanding and restoring original wooden floors is significantly more cost-effective than replacing them. It also preserves the character of the property.

Do you offer floor sanding throughout South Wales?

Yes. We provide professional floor sanding and restoration services throughout Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Llanelli, Bridgend, Cardiff, and surrounding areas across South Wales.

Can you match existing floor colours?

How often should wooden floors be sanded?

Most wooden floors only need full sanding every 10–20 years depending on foot traffic, maintenance, and the type of finish used.

Are your finishes safe for children and pets?

Yes. We use high-quality professional finishes with low odour and low VOC options available, suitable for family homes.

Can old pine floorboards be restored?

Do you provide commercial floor sanding?

What areas do you cover?

We mostly cover Swansea, Mumbles, Neath, Port Talbot, Llanelli, Bridgend, Carmarthen, Cardiff, and surrounding South Wales areas. However we have and do work further afield and are happy to travel.

Do you offer free quotations?

How do I maintain my floor after sanding?
